You see them everywhere these days, on the doors of restaurants and in almost every type of business, help wanted signs. Sadly, at least in my neck of the woods, there aren’t enough people who are willing to work.
The other day, while my wife and I waited for our lunch at a favorite short-staffed eatery, the following thought occurred to us both: God doesn’t need help wanted signs.
Before you say, “Now wait a minute, David!” please allow me to explain. God absolutely invites us to join Him in His work. For instance, Jesus sent out the seventy-two as an advance team for the cities he visited (Luke 10:1-2). This was certainly a help wanted situation.
Yet there’s another sign the Lord loves to put up everywhere-world-wide. Please see below:
Right there in neon letters is the biggest “Help OFFERED” sign ever. And, when we accept heaven’s gift, that makes us neon saints!
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.2 Corinthians 5:20 (NIV)
Kind reader, is there a big “Heaven’s Help Offered” in the window of your life? Do others see Jesus in you? Of course, I ask myself these same questions.
Thank you for reading. 🙏❤️
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.John 3:16 (NIV)
