Twice in one day this week, I saw the same message: “It is what it is.” The first time was on a bumper sticker–coming through the morning car line at my school. Then, it was after dismissal –on a custodian’s tee shirt.
Now, I’m the kind of guy who goes fishing for a life application when I intercept the same message twice in eight hours. And I’m angling for positive thoughts from a Christian perspective.
My first idea was the contrast between the current prevailing worldview and a “Not of this world” one.” For the Christian, it isn’t what it is. Rather, it is what it’s going to be.😇 Our hope for the future is sure–no matter what happens on planet earth!
In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade, kept in heaven for you.
1 Peter 1:4 (NIV)
Kind reader, this scripture led me straight to my post title. When my cheerful grandmother got excited about a piece of good news she’d put her weathered hands together, look to heaven, and say “Oh Happy Day!”
The Lord is our strength and song!
Thank you for reading and watching. 🙏❤️ prayers and love.
