The Subtle Season

faintly, autumn comes

across soggy fallen leaves

her footsteps muted

Normally, I share original micro poetry on my other site, allhaiku.com, but the #blogtober 2023 challenge has me posting every day this month. I’m already out of ideas!😳

We don’t get much Fall color around here. The elms turn brown and drop their leaves over a weekend. But I can visualize what you’re talking about. I’m enjoying blogtober, but wonder how I’m going to make it the whole month.

Agreed, Matt. Sometimes it doesn’t really cool off around here until November.

Fall is my favorite season of the year with the fall colors, Thanksgiving, and football

The maple leaves are always my favorite. Each morning my shoes drag those soggy leaves into the house after being in the yard with the dogs. Kudos to you for undertaking the October challenge. In turn you’ve challenged me to keep up with my reading:)

Good one David…and those 2 different kinds of maples (one had yellow, the other red leaves) are now bare. Oaks are still dropping leaves.

I don’t know anything about unsplash, but this is a nice photo and poem combo Dave. I do suggest you might try using the verse rather than paragraph format for poetry as it will give you a single-spaced line option and a unique background.

A perfect Fall haiku, David. Gary’s photos are so impressive. Each one could generate a haiku I am sure! Good for you for taking on that challenge. I didn’t even know about it, but every day posting is too much for me. Enjoy your Tuesday!
