Clouds on the Mountain

One recent morning, as we drove into the city, the top of a familiar mountain was covered by a cloud. A closer look revealed a meadow below, blanketed with winter wheat.

What a contrast!

This is a good picture of a Christian’s walk with God. His higher purposes are often cloaked in clouds, yet He provides for us in the grassland below.

He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul.

Psalm 23:2-3a (NIV)

Kind reader, I’ve been friends with God for over forty-five years and can say with confidence: while His paths are not always easily understood, He can be fully trusted.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and he will direct your paths.

Psalm 3:5-6 (NKJV)

Thank you for reading. 🙏❤️ prayers and love.

Thank you for sharing, Simply B. Your illustration fits perfectly. I should have been looking for a pillar of fire on the way home!

This makes me think of reading in Exodus and God using clouds and fire to lead the Israelites. Good words to think about and certainly a timely reminder for every day of every year forever, as you say. Thank you for the encouraging words.

Amen, brother Matt. That last sentence is from scripture, right? I forget the address.

Reminds me of when I looked over them. As the mountains surround Jerusalem so the Lord surrounds his people.
