A table full of young soldiers at the food court appeared to be praying together over their noon meal. “How refreshing,” I thought. “They are giving thanks to God.”
Tis the season.
As I drew closer, I realized they were all staring down at their phones. It was indeed reverence, but of a different sort.

However, if their commander had walked up to the table, the demeanor of the soldiers would have instantly changed. To a man they would have dropped their phones and snapped to attention, standing behind their chairs.
Lift up you heads, you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
Psalm 24:9 (NIV)
Confession: If Jesus Christ arrived at the “food court” of my life, in either His first or second coming, He’d likely find me staring at my phone, unprepared.
Kind reader, as we begin this season of Advent, may we “Lift up our heads,” that the King of glory may come in!
🎶Come, Thou long-expected Jesus, born to set Thy people free.🎶
Thank you for reading. 🙏❤️Prayers and Love.
