Back in early July, I shared a post about our historic church receiving a makeover. Getting Things Done with God told the tale of our 80- something-year-old building which was in dire need of repairs, but the price tag seemed impossible.
Enter God, who excels at doing the undoable. The miraculous renovation is complete! A few readers asked me to post an update when the work was accomplished. So, here’s the before and after:

🎶”Isn’t she lovely? Isn’t she beau-ti-ful?” 🎶
Our little chapel got a new slate roof, beautiful cooper trim, resealed stain glass windows, and…

Custom solid wood doors! Yes, that’s a bicycle lock on the handle. They’re so new they don’t have dead bolts yet.
Unless the Lord builds the house, it’s builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain.
Psalm 127:1
Here’s an original worship song to celebrate the occasion. Thank you for reading. 🙏❤️

It truly is a miracle that this historic church was saved. Another building nearby, about the same age, has already been demolished. God chose to honor Himself, and Christ’s redemptive work, by keeping the chapel. doors open. I’m glad you enjoyed the song, brother. Thank you, and God Bless!

The Church looks really good, and those doors are gorgeous. I am sure our Father God will honour this work to His Glory. And your worship song is just so beautiful brother David, your smile and voice really tell us you believe every word of the lyrics…keep up the great work for Him brother.

Thank you for the full disclosure. It was a perfect fit and quite catching. I found myself singing it while finishing up my evening chores. I love songs in which I’m singing scripture.

Thank you, Beth! In full disclosure, I wrote the song prior to the renovation of our church. Yet it seemed like the right one to sing to honor God for the gift of our renewed house of worship. God Bless!

David, I can’t think of a better way to commemorate a miraculous renovation than an original song of praise. Great song and beautiful pictures!

And that’s not here, but not as often as up north. I’ll be sure and get one when it does.

The chapel first opened just before Christmas in 1935. And now she’s almost as good as new. Thanks Matt. God bless!

It’s just a number, Crystal, but I understand the feeling. 1968 seems like a long time ago.

I appreciate you, David. It’s a one-a-day pill until January, and we go from there. I feel fine, maybe a little old?

And thank you for listening! I tried to sound a little bit like Paul Simon, or maybe Pete Seeger—🎶 “ If I had a Hammer” 🎶. Call me a Christian folky! Have a blessed weekend!

Thank you, Bridget! As one of our church members commented, the lighting in the sanctuary was also updated to brighter LEDs. I’m going to get a picture of that and post it later. Thank you for your consistent encouragement. You are one of my most frequent commenters! God Bless.

Thank you, Betty. I knew to explain about the bike lock, because I have plenty of observant readers—like you! On a military post, where our church is, a bicycle lock is enough to keep everyone honest. Thank you also for your kind words about my song. Music has been a part of my life from the beginning, and a talent I’ve continue to develop over the years.
“Enjoy your day!” as you often say.

The remodeled church is beautiful! I’m glad you explained about that bicycle lock on the doors. I was like, what’s that? – because those doors are absolutely stunning. And David, that original song is just beautiful. You have a talent there – to write a song, play the guitar and sing, too. Your joy in the Lord comes through and is very inspiring. Thanks for the update and sharing your song.
