Napkins Needed

One loaded hot dog just the way I like it. Check. Now, for some napkins, because I’m gonna need a few! Scanning the convenience store counter top, I don’t find any. But there’s a sign, pointing me in the right direction–literally.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9 (NKJV)

It’s a good thing God offers spiritual napkins, because we often need a few. And, when we look up to Him–in repentance–there’s always enough.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Psalm 51:10 (NKJV)

King David, who wrote Psalm 51 after commiting both adultery and murder, needed lots and lots of napkins, and history says God cleaned him up–though there were consequences.

Kind reader, you and I are no different. Forgiveness is available. Restoration is possible. Look up, because the Lord always has plenty of napkins.

Thank you for reading. 🙏❤️ prayers and love.

Thanks, Pete. The napkin dispenser maker likely designed and labeled their dispenser with a chuckle, and the connection to repentance and forgiveness is also plain as day. God is good! I hope you have a blessed day, Pastor Pete. Thank you for stopping by!

Oh boy David, now that is a vivid picture! In real life it also looks like a three tums day, but the spiritual application does hold up. This is one I will remember!

Perfectly applied David! The combined picture of your hotdog and the napkin dispenser message made the words “Cleanse us” and “clean heart” simply pop from the scriptures.

A brilliant analogy, David! I hate to think what my spirit would look like if it weren’t for God’s napkins cleaning up my mess-ups over the years! Praise God he not only forgives but also restores and replenishes!

I love it! Will Kleenex do? There’s boxes all over our house. Plus I have spares in coat pockets and purses. 😄 I’ll think of this whenever I reach for one. Because God knows I need it. ❤️

I only eat the all beef ones, Manette Kay, but I know what you mean. The second half of your comment reminds me of where David said in the Psalms: “I look to the hills. From where does my help come? It comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”

I’m not a fan of hotdogs. Maybe because we toured a factory in elementary school, seeing them made. But the loaded hotdog pictured almost makes me crave one.
The best part of this post is your reminder of all of us needing to look “up” to where our help comes from. I’m in continuous need of spiritual napkins and grateful they’re free.

“Under Construction “ is a good way to describe our current conditions, Bridget! This side of heaven, we all need napkins—and to pass the napkins. Thanks for sharing. God Bless!

My pastor said this morning that we are all under construction. I’m so thankful God has plenty of spiritual napkins to clean us up as we grow to be more like Jesus. Thank you for this, David!

I remember you said before that hot dogs 🌭 aren’t popular in Scotland.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 In the USA we talk about baseball, hot dogs, and apple pie as being uniquely American.🇺🇸
Yes, thank God, every morning his mercies (napkins) are replenished (new)!
Blessings to you and yours this sabbath day, brother.

Wow what a delicious looking hotdog 🌭
We are not big on hotdogs in the UK which by the looks of your picture is a real shame.
I love how you take ordinary life and weave a Biblical application out of it. We certainly need Godly napkins every day to dab away the spills of our life, praise God who has an endless supply of them!
