Living to the Max

Meet Max. He’s an eight-year-old Boxer and the elder brother of the family. Jaiden (5) and Jackson (3), his human siblings, are his two best buds.

Lately, Max no longer feels like climbing the stairs, or playing fetch with the boys. Gone is the high energy that’s so typical for his breed.

This week a veterinarian found out why: an inoperable tumor spread to the dog’s lungs. Yet Max recently enjoyed watching Jaiden’s football practice.

Carry each other’s burdens and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

Galatians 6:2 (NIV)

Kind reader, is there someone you can “pull in a wagon” so they experience God’s love? This may take some effort—Max outweighs Jaiden—but it will be worth the venture!

Thank you for reading. 🙏❤️prayers and love.

It’s a special relationship, for sure! As a kid, I had two dogs-Spot and Bohunk. I still remember some of our adventures. Max’s mom told me he had a good weekend. Actually felt well enough to jump up on the couch. They are taking it day by day, and enjoying the time they have left.

Brings back memories of me as a child with my dog. There is something special about the relationship between children and a family dog. So sad when the dog ages and is ailing.

It’s so difficult, pets are part of the family. We lost one of our cat’s a few months ago to cancer. It really does hurt your heart. But that love shared is worth it all.

Thanks, Beth. When I saw my friend’s pictures, the scripture verse almost immediately came to mind!

The family knows Max’s time is short, and they don’t want him to suffer. They are enjoying the time they have left together-making memories. I think $20 bowls of beef brisket have been on the doggie menu every night this week.
God’s best to you and your family. Thank you for reading and commenting.

We had large dogs and small ones, and every one of them has been like family. My friends are enjoying the time they have left with Max. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you can get that Boxer again someday soon. God Bless!

We had a boxer named Riley. Same, trouble with tumors. She was a very good dog. I would like to do a boxer again. We miss her. Enjoy Max while you can.

This was such a beautiful picture to me of the nurse who goes the extra mile or the family member who comes to visit even when their loved one barely rememvers them. Our part as volunteers from church is bringing people along and helping them to be a part of our fellowship with Christ, not just singing and shaking hands. You really got me thinking. God bless you and your Nancy as you share your hearts in song today.

The family knows Max’s time is limited. It could be any day. The football practice is a good memory. I know what your talking about with mothers who pull us along. I had a mother like that. ❤️
Thanks for reading and commenting, Vera. God Bless.

Poor Max. I pray he’s not in any pain. I pull my elderly mother in a wagon. (I imagine an old-fashioned, metal Radio Flyer.) She pulled me, of course, when I was a child, literally and figuratively.

Caregiving! That’s what this post is about. Thanks, Pete! I kept thinking, “What’s the main point here?” Love? Comfort? Healing? Nope, it’s going the extra mile to care for others—like God does. Thanks for sharing, Pastor Pete!
Nancy and I sing at a nursing home this morning at 10. I’ll try to get a video clip.
    Blessings, brother!

Yes he is! Max is literally like a first kid, for my friend and her husband. They had him for three years before their boys came along. It’s a tough time for the family, but, like you said, there’s so much love!
Thanks for stopping in. God Bless!
PS. I look forward to reading your next creation.
