For the past few months, a lone chicken has “free ranged” around our neighborhood. It’s a miracle it hasn’t been killed and eaten by a predator.
I spotted it in the middle of the road early one morning last week and took out my phone for a photo. It was only then that a cat started across the road–walking right into the frame!
Notice how the carnivorous kitty doesn’t pay her feathered friend any mind. The cat never even looks at the bird as it leisurely ambles across the road. Yet, in the final photo, the chicken puffs herself up and flaps her wings in a “don’t mess with me” display.
That’s one chill cat!
The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. Isaiah 11:6 (ESV)
Kind reader, maybe that “carnivore” crossing the road in front of us isn’t a threat after all. Remember how Daniel spent the night in a lions den, walking out the next morning without a scratch, because the Lord closed their mouths? When you’re between two angels you can sleep like a baby.
When the Lord takes pleasure in anyone’s way, he causes their enemies to make peace with them. Proverbs 16:7 (NIV)
Thank you for reading. 🙏❤️ prayers and love.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. Psalm 34:19
