G.W., from His Eye is on the Sparrow, posted A Little Mystery this morning. He said he just needed to vent, and would accomplish this in only 100 words.
I read with anticipation of what my older and wiser blogger brother would say, especially looking for his perspective on things that are beyond his control. However, the totality of his complaint was a GIF that said,
FUHGEDDABOUDIT!
G.W. then wrapped up his 100 word non-complaint with an excellent scripture verse:
Do not be quick to speak, and do not be hasty in your heart to utter a word before God. After all, God is in heaven and you are on earth. So let your words be few.”Ecclesiastes 5:2
Wow! This is exactly where my heart has been lately. Something small(ish) happens and I prepare to vent, only to hear the Holy Spirit say, “Is it really that big of a deal?” More often than not, the honest answer is no.
Kind reader, perhaps the solution to our mystery (whatever it may be) is to simply be still and acknowledge that God is God and we are not. Thank you for reading, and thank you, G.W. for the reminder to let our words be few.
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10
🙏❤️ prayers and love.
